Salida, Colorado

I made it last night to what might well be my last stop on the trail,  the lovely little town of Salida in south-central Colorado.  I arrived well after nightfall as I was trying to get here before predicted snow and rain arrived.  Its actually lovely here today (at quite a low level, about 7,000 feet, I descended down from 10,000 foot last night), but I’m told there is now thick snow on all the higher passes.

So I’ll make a decision on what to do in the next few days – either stop here, move to Denver, or go south by road – but in the meanwhile there are some lovely places to explore here – more of that later.
