The purpose of this blog is pretty simple really – a sort of live diary of my attempt to ride the longest ‘official’ mountain bike route in the world, the Great Continental Divide – a route that follows the ‘spine’ of North America from Canada down to Mexico. The official start point is Banff in Alberta and it ‘finishes’ at Antelope Wells border post in New Mexico. Its about 4,500 km (more or less!), with a lot of ups and downs and runs through some of the great National Parks of Canada and the US. I’ve given myself 10 weeks to do it – all I could take off from work!
